It’s true. I use Facebook to find out what my husband is doing or thinking during the day, and I use Twitter and LinkedIn to learn about what he’s working on. This doesn’t mean we don’t talk or spend time together, but I have to admit during a long day apart, it’s fun to see pictures, links, or thoughts posted by my husband. It gives me ideas of things to follow up with him about later, and he likes to know how my day is going or what I’m up to with the kids. Does this make us weird? Maybe. Different? Absolutely!
How about you? Do you use social media tools to communicate with your spouse? Tell us here.
I'm

Although my spouse has a Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin account, he is kind of annoyed by social media (maybe since he is in IT?). He mostly has a “who cares” attitude when it comes to the typical status updates. So we mostly use IM during the day, and good old fashioned talking…
Gasp…Talking? Yeah, I like the immediate aspect of IM, but I have a DH who doesn’t always remember to log in.
Boy do I know the feeling!
We use email to communicate a lot during the day. He’s usually on the phone all day so phone calls go to voicemail. Quick notes on email are the fastest and usually do the trick. He’s gone for 13 hours a day, so there’s very little talk time. When it’s simple quick updates or “running to the grocery store what do you want” talk, email is the easiest.
My hubs doesn’t have any social media accounts – no facebook, no twitter. Nothing. So, we just text each during the day. Sometimes, I wonder what he’d post and talk about on facebook or twitter, but he flat-out refuses.
Well, we own a web design/social marketing company, so there’s no limit to what my DH will tolerate I guess. LOL We have to keep learning and pushing ourselves to use everything we teach other businesses to use, so I guess we call it “business” hee. hee. That’s what I love about my blog here and visiting other mom blogs. I can call it “work”, but I love what I do. I get to visit with people and have fun.
I confess to IMing with my husband when we are sitting 3 feet apart. Not joking.
