Blogoshere’s Top Most Interesting People: SuzanneShaffer

graduation2Suzanne Shaffer caught my attention right away on Twitter. A while back, she wrote a blog post about the three most interesting people she follows online, and I was pleasantly surprised to find she selected me! Really? Ah…shucks. Since then, we’ve developed a Twitter relationship. She is friendly and outgoing, and always helpful. Suzanne has a website that she uses to help parents navigate college decisions with their children. While I’m far from those types of decisions yet, Suzanne’s unique approach to helping others is sincere and refreshing. I hope she’s still at it in 10 years when I need her!

Suzanne Shaffer is my next choice for our Blogoshere’s Top most Interesting People. You can find her on Twitter at www.twitter.com/suzanneshaffer or on her website “Parent’s Countdown to College Coach”

Blogoshere’s Top Most Interesting People: ChiNurse

do no harmMaybe it was her gravatar picture on Twitter that grabbed my attention; a corner of her red hair and dark glasses. Her picture accompanied a tweet that was quite sarcastic and funny, but true. I was new to twitter, determined to make some good connections and @ChiNurse caught my attention. I don’t really like Chi Tea. I’ve tried to like it, but I stick to coffee. My mom is a nurse though, so I know that people in the medical field can be brutally honest and fairly witty. I read her Twitter bio which says, “BSN, RN with RA. Mom of Boy.Transplanted Iowan. Border Collies! Reading, Writing. Parrots, bird nut. Supporter of fellow humans. Generally curious. Genuine.”

I don’t know what BSN means, and I only have girls. I’ve even on occasion made fun of birding people, as my friend Rosanne can attest. (Sorry Rosanne) A quick trip to her blog, http://biggreybirds.wordpress.com/ and you know this person is genuine. A REAL mom.

moi2_biggerMost of all, I enjoy her tweets packed with 140 characters of funny stuff. I frequently laugh out loud or call to my husband, “You have to read this”. My husband has since followed @ChiNurse so he can read her tweets on his own. The most memorable tweets? Removing stitches from her dog’s unmentionables on the couch and being nearly scared to death by a bird flying out of a tree while letting her dog out. Yeah, they don’t sound as funny after I’ve killed the punchlines, but I assure you that @ChiNurse is one of our Blogoshere’s Top Most Interesting People!
